- Ok, well Here's my opinion/information in reply to your questions.
-
- 1. What would be really sweet for the power user would be:
- (a) a program that would allow you to "swap" disks (maybe thru the
- control panel?). This would be pleasant, to say the least.
- (b) Maybe, a program that allows you to emulate disk access pretty
- completely. One thing about this is that some copy protected
- software would still die.
-
- Anyways, my opinion on the buffering/1 MHz thing is that Ideally, users
- would be able to set preferences to switch either/both off on boot, for
- EACH PROGRAM. This way, if you are using something like an Infocom game,
- you can switch neither off (since they are text based, speed and buffering
- are helpful), while if they are playing some arcade game, they can choose
- both off. That's what I think
-
- As for the 1 MHz thing, Zips go off completely at 1 MHz (so you get true 1
- MHz) automatically. I think that Transwarps do too, but I don't know.
-
- Anyways, I think that the "swap" option is necessary, because some programs
- only look in S6, D1 for the program, even for swapped disks.
