- All ImageWriter II printers manufactured after 1989 came with a 24k buffer
- built-in. You can easily tell if you have a newer IW2 model by the circle
- and line icon next to the power-button. Also the power connector and 8-pin
- plug connect locations have been moved. (There's some other changes too)

- Actually Apple did offically discontinue the 32k buffer option. Here's
- what it says in my IW2 manual:

- memory option. A larger buffer is now standard on the ImageWriter II.
- The 32k Memory Option is no longer available. *"

- I remember a 3rd party company offering a compatible printer buffer at
- something in sizes like 16k/32k/64k/128k buffers for the IW2, but I'd have
- no idea whether they're still in business.
