  15. Wondering if you could help me out with a problem I got.

  17. I ordered an 800k External drive from Mac Sale Int'l, for use with my GS, since 
  18. it was my understanding that Apple brand external 800k drives work with either 
  19. Macs or GSes.  I got it today, and it isn't working.  It's in a beige case...
  20. and it says on the bottom "800K external drive" but it won't be recognized by
  21. anything I try to use like Copy ][ +, ProTerm, etc.  When I try to set the 
  22. default slot to boot from to slot 5, for the drive, I get that apple moving
  23. across the screen error, "Device not ready" or something like that.  Copy ][+
  24. says it's a non prodos or dos 3.3 disk.  Aaarrggh.  Is this an older model that 
  25. doesnt work with the GS?  I dont have a copy of the current system software, but
  26. was planning to FTP it off ftp.apple.com.  Could anyone binscii & ShrinkIt the 
  27. system disk (by file not by disk!) and send it to me?  Can anyone help me with 
  28. the drive problem, I called MAc Sale and they will exchange it for a platinum 
  29. one...but I have to wait til Monday to call back and check if they have any.
