  23. Hmm.. I do remember this happening to me a while back when I was still
  24. using my ROM 01 GS. Basically my set-up at the time was a ROM 01 GS, a
  25. DataLink Express, and a Mac Classic. Since the DataLink Express has two
  26. inputs, a MiniDin-8 and a DB-25, I could have both computers plugged into
  27. the modem. I didn't run into a problem until one day I was downloading
  28. with my GS and I decided to turn on my Mac. Since then I've noticed a
  29. problem with my serial port on my GS similar to you problem, the TR light
  30. occasionally decides not to turn on, and ProTerm 2.1 had problems
  31. initializing it. I think I tried to use the printer port and went to the
  32. control panel and made the changes. However ProTerm didn't have a setting
  33. for using the modem on the printer port. (ProTerm 3.0 had the same
  34. probelem)
  35. So I set everything in the control panel back to normal, and guess what?
  36. The TR light went on strong. However this has proved only a temporary
  37. solution, after awhile the TR light would go off again. Now that I have a
  38. ROM 3 GS and don't worry about it anymore, I just make sure that both
  39. computers aren't on when the modem is on. As for my ROM 01, my sister uses
  40. it with a PCTransporter to run WordPerfect 5.1.  Go figure.
