  24. The mechanism can get a bit toasty in normal operation.  I wouldn't
  25. want to run one without a fan.  Fans are cheap insurance.  There are
  26. probably a few people here who have had no problems with the Shadow
  27. (and related drives)...all I can say is "buyer beware."
