- You should be able to load the tapes in using the RAI tools. Just create an
- 'install' directory at the mount point (//w6_0/w5_0/install) of the second disk,
- and tell minst that that's your <AA> (-s //w6_0/w5_0). You should then be able
- to install from there to anywhere, including to the volume //w6_0/w5_0). Unlike
- the Suns and HP-UX machines, you can load an O/S on any volume you want.

- According to my handy-dandy "HP/Apollo 9000 Series 400 Domain/OS Owners Manual"
- you specify an alternate boot disk as
- DI sd#:#
- In your case, 'sd5:0' for scsi ID 5. (This is on page 10-10 of the manual.)

- If the diskless machine has a disk drive, this won't work. (I don't recognize
- the 'E' option to DI either, but then, I use ATR mainly.) If it doesn't have a
- disk, see the next attempt's problem.

- Although //node1 is running netman, I will bet that you haven't told it to
- offer services to //node2 (the node ID actually). It is necessary to run
- netman, but unless you change the /sys/net/diskless_list file to have the
- nodeIDs entered, it won't respond to the broadcast queries that //node2
- is generating.
- HOWEVER, if you say 'DI N 12345' (where 12345 is the nodeID of //node1), then
- you should be fine. Netman will ALWAYS answer a direct query. If you want/
- need to prevent a machine from letting somebody boot diskless off it, then
- you need to massage 'netman.rc' (a link to either netman.bin_sh or netman.com_sh)
- to inspect and reject certain machines. (This was discussed about a year(?) ago,
- but I only remember generalities.)
