-
- Ok. First off, I haven't done it at 10.4, so if there's a bug at 10.4, I may
- not have any solutions.
-
- 1) Have you run the self-test (done automatically on boot, or by entering
- 'TE' at the IP0> prompt if you're in service mode)? If you _have_, record
- what controllers/drives it finds. If you haven't, then run it. After you
- have that info, do you see what you expect for 'passed' equipment?
-
- 2) If you don't get a drive passing when you think it's there, then make sure
- that it's hooked up right. If you got it third party, you will need to
- run option 7 (initialize badspot list) before you can do anything with it.
- Have you?
-
- 3) Have you tried invol-ing the second (third/fourth) disk without striping?
- It's not technically necessary, but I prefer to invol the drives one at a
- time, and then invol them again with striping. That way, I get a warm fuzzy
- feeling about each drive, and I get to waste more time at work. :-)
-
- 4) If you still can't get it going, please send me e-mail with the info from
- above (what disks are there, and the INVOL transcript). Are you able to
- boot diskless off another node? If so, the transcripts are a lot easier
- to get, and the reboot intervals are a lot shorter....
