- First, let me say that although no program like this exists, I seriously
- doubt that any commerical groups are going to be investing in this type of
- thing, else we would have had it way back when. So the responsibility falls
- into the hands of the PD/shareware programmers, if they choose to accept it.
- I sure others know that they probably could have used this program at some
- point, so the need definely exists.
-
- Anyway, if you were considering writing, then by all means, proceed to!
- if only for your own good. I understand that people dont like developing
- programs without getting proper credit, and thus Shareware came into
- being. If you feel that you can work on it, but dont need anything in
- return, release it as FreeWare. If you want a bit more, take out a few
- options, and release it as shareware. That choice is up to you.
-
- If you do release as shareware, you definitely want to remove/disable a
- few key features in order to make any money off of it. If you are
- producing one with a gfx interface, removing the save option would be
- useless (i could just grab the screen if needed.). Alternatively, I would
- remove stuff like....
- greek letters
- subscripts and superscripts beyond the first one
-
- I cant think of others off hand, but you get the drift. Features that
- dont necessarily show the power of the program, but are usually required for
- acceptable output.
-
- I encourage you to continue work on the program. Many of us are counting
- on you...
