- With the release of new software, including Maple, the Amiga now has all the
- software (worthwhile of course) that IBMs and Macs have, EXCEPT an mathematical
- equation editor! There is TeX, but that is too slow/large/bulky for most
- people. I would like to know if anyone is planning on, working on, or has
- released any such program. The features that I would like to see are:
- -Save as IFF brush (importing into WP or DTP)
- -Graphical interface
- use scalable fonts for symbols and variables.
- buttons for 'intergration creation','summation cr.', etc...
- -Ablilty to read in FORTRAN/C equation line, and translate to symbols...ie
- `x=INT(y^2+SIN(y),y,0,5)' would give output as x equalling the
- integral of y^*sin(y), from y=0 to y=5.
-
- WordPerfect 5+ (on IBM) has this feature. There is a Mac program that
- does this as well (shipped with Mathematica?). But for the math/science/
- engineering student, there is nothing for the Amiga. This type of program is
- definitely needed
