Well, I think Commodore must look to Apple as its role model. It
established itself as a niche computer <DTP> and then expanded outward
with GREAT advertising. The 1984 commercial is one of the best commercials
ever. What commodore HAS to do is stop advertising Amigas in Amiga World
and advertisine Amigas in Video Review/Byte/Compute/Etc. Amiga owners
already have enough Amigas. Apple is advertising left and right in DOS
magazines with its Anti-Windows ads. <Which by the way are brilliant>
Motorola is also helping Apple. And what should C= advertise in Amiga
World, well how about AmigaDos 2.0. Has anyone seens ads for it? I sure
haven't. I can't get over the fact that people can tolerate looking at
1.3. If C= could get Amiga users to upgrade to 2.0 and get non amiga users
to upgrade to Amigas, THEN they are successful. I am glad to hear C= is
having CDTV ads on tv. I just wish I could see them. C= has to project an
image to the world that they are not Atari-types. Why is it that some
people are EMBARASSED to have amigas? Apple users are more than arrogant
because they have an image. It is hip to own a Macintosh. I wish C= could
hire Apple's Ad Agency because they're effective in pointing out the flaws
with DOS machines... "This is making it easier?" etc.,
Oh Well...
Just my two cents worth...
