- : While I would agree that C= (Aus) didn't go out of its way to encourage
- : existing Amiga users to upgrade, prices still compare pretty favourably
- : with those in the U.S. (or they did last time I looked). The 2000 can
- : be had now for around $990, and the 3000 for $2800. These are good
- : value for everyone by my reckoning.

- A1000 owner since 1985
- (Anyone have an A1000 from 1984?)
-
- There certainly seem to be a lot of A1000 owners out there still despite
- all of the trade-in offers from Commodore. I personally see "Insufficient
- incentive to upgrade." The keyboard garage, though minor, is a factor.
- However, the major disincentive is the lack of upgrade in the actual
- hardware. (Even no 2.0 on my A1000 isn't causing me to upgrade.) Perhaps
- with the AA chipset, that will change.
-
- However, if I have to pay $3500 for the upgrade with the $1000 credit (as
- I would have to get the A3000 25Mhz that I wanted), then the upgrade will
- be out again. To cause me to upgrade, Commodore will have to impress me
- like the A1000 did in 1985.
