- No, somehow that doesn't not sound correct.

-
- The Syquest was just plug in and go. A SCSI floptical was just plug in
- and go. A 3070 tape drive is just plug in and go. A Sony optical
- (reported to me, I didn't see it personally) was just plug in an go.
-
- Your Bernoulli apparently is not.
-
- The filesystem pings any drive that shows up as removable
- (from the Inquier option in HDToolBox) automatically, so it can pick up
- disk changes.

-
- Unfortunately, a lot of those kind of status functions are non-standard or
- manufacturer specific.
-
- Perhaps in a future release the scsi.device scan method can be modified
- to work better with your drive. You should send in an enhancement
- request giving full details (including module of Bournelli) and
- ROM revision of the drive (you can get this from the HDToolBox get
- info from drive screen) and requesting what you want.

-
- I suspect that's how long it takes the Bernoulli to either time out
- or to respond to the mode select and inquiry command. Without actually
- trying your particular drive, its hard to tell.
