- I am trying to help a fellow Amigan with his A2000 setup. He's had it
- for a year or so and had somebody from a shop set up all the startup
- stuff for him. (My friend is more of a user and less of a programmer)
- Anyway, the guy who set up a lot of the stuff for him, has since died,
- and my friend isn't that familiar with getting around the system via
- a newshell or CLI. He also has some of his own stuff, such as some
- background tasks and something called MyMenu which replaces the Workbench
- menu with his own shortcuts to run programs and utilities.
-
- Anyway, we've tried to adjust the workbench screen location and save it,
- but when the machine is rebooted, the adjustment is not made. Does
- preferences save the changes in a particular place? Surely it does,
- 'cause the system has to find it on bootup, but I couldn't seem to
- locate it anywhere. Where is it saved? What is the file called? And
- why would the selected save button in preferences NOT save it?
-
- As a side question, I saw something called "IPrefs" (I think) somewhere
- in his boot sequence. Is this related to the above problem?
-
- Any and all replies gratefully accepted, via posting or email
-
- Thanks,
- Chris
