- Has anyone had trouble with DW1.62??
-
- I have tried to MOVE multiple files to a floppy in EITHER drive and have
- FREQUENTLY (though not always) gotten a "write error on block 880".
-
- It is always the SAME block - 880.
- It matters NOT which drive I use.
- It matters NOT which floppy I use.
- It kills the floppy completely so that when I try to reinsert it into the
- drive to check it, I get the disk icon and :NDOS under it.
-
-
- I have also had the SAME ERROR with the SAME BLOCK #880 when I attempted to
- extract the ICON.LZH files from the FISH collection. These files contain
- scripts that automatically unarc to floppy to create a demo disk...
-
- If I use DW anywhere in the unarc'ing process, it kills my floppy the same
- way as a MOVE multiple files does.
-
- A game called HOW.LZH likewise cannot be unarc'ed to floppy, nor can its
- extracted files be MOVED to a floppy with giving me an :NDOS floppy.
-
-
- Any clues on this? Have others had the same problem with that block number??
- Can this affect my harddrive if that block number is ever left vacant on it
- for DW to get its claws into?
-
- I am referring to 1.62 version only.
-
- Thank you,
- Crystal
