-
- The first time I got this, I was a little shocked. It was just
- after I installed my 2.04 rom in my accelerator. The problem was
- solved by cutting the jumper on the rom (my 500 hadn't required the
- jumper). This tidbit might come in handy to anyone placing the 2.04
- rom in their computer, this purple seems to be some sort of reset
- condition, when the computer can run the rom.
-
- The board in question is the VXL*32 ram expansion, so for note of
- the netters, you cut the jumper on the rom to install. Also of note,
- is that this is not covered in any of the documentation.
-
- So to the origional poster, have you tried `re-seating' your
- chips? Chips often work loose after awhile, and this would explain
- the `drop test' working --- you're jiggling your chips to work. Try
- firmly pressing down on all chips in the machine.

-
- Re-seating the chips is probably much healthier! ;)
