- |I own a vxl-030 40mhz no-copro. The question is : Is 2mb 32bit memory
- |enough to use the system ? Does it leave some memory after the
- |ks 2.04 is copied in memory ? What would be the gain to have 8mb 32bit ?
- 2 MBs is plenty for most things. The 2.04 will use up 512K leaving
- you with 1.5MBs of 32 bit memory. If you are running alot of tasks,
- maybe not, you might want to get the 8 MBs.
-
- One important point is that the 2 MB version has 60 ns chips, the 8 MB
- has 80 ns chips. Because the denser chips are not available in 60 ns
- form, the 8MB may be slower. I am not sure where this affects wait states
- and burst.
-
- Myself, I have the 2 MB board along with 4 Mbs of 16 bit fast memory
- and with running a BBS(Citadel BBS), and several other things, only
- get into the 16 bit memory on occasion.
-
- The bottom line is you have to decide!
