  13. My friend has a wierd problem with his printer hooked to his 2000.
  14. When he came back from a week's vacation he found that he can't send
  15. anything to the printer and always gets a "Printer Problem" system
  16. message - UNLESS he boots a printing program from a floppy, in which
  17. case the printer works OK. Any attempt to print from a hard drive
  18. boot, regardless of the printing means, fails. He's re-installed his
  19. entire WB2.0 Workbench on his drive without results. His PRT: device
  20. is listed as mounted and the printer is obviously working since
  21. there's nor problem when booting from a floppy. There are no other
  22. obvious problems with the system. There was one other anomoly that
  23. went away: the first time he booted the machine after his vacation he
  24. got the 2.0 "Insert Disk" screen which indicated that the SCSI
  25. controller wasn't working for some reason, but after another reboot
  26. the drive has worked fine. The controller is a GVP Series I with the
  27. latest ROM update. The printer is a Star 9-pin running the EpsonX
  28. driver.
