- I have a three year old Quantum PRO 40S drive which I'm not using
- now because it doesn't start up. The drive motor appears to
- be stuck. If I bash the drive (not recommended) a number of times
- a turn the power on, the drive eventually starts. Once it is
- going, it works fine.
-
- Does anyone know what can be done about it? A friend told me that
- some Quantum drives had the wrong (or too much) grease applied to the
- motor spindle and it eventually starts to harden, but this is just
- a rumour he heard......
-
- I would like to use the drive for a small archive storage area, but
- this problem has become so bad, that it really annoying. At first, it
- would require switching the power off/on to get the motor started, but
- without some force it is now ridiculous. :(
-
- Any ideas, anyone?
- Thanks
