- I think your criticisms may be a bit premature. DMI do not
- consider themselves to be making spurious statements. I've had
- some long talks with them about the theory behind the way they're
- designing this stuff and what it realistically can do and, in con-
- junction with some of the demo stuff I've seen, I think their
- way of implementing it IS the way of the future and will in a very
- real sense, assuming they get SOME SUPPORT, threaten and perhaps
- supersede the $180,000+ systems. So instead of being so harsh
- in your criticisms, why not go talk to them? And encourage developers
- to get some software onto this beast. It is really slick. Then all
- of us have a chance at getting SGI power for under $18,000. If we
- don't support developers like DMI, we'll continue to dream of winning
- the lottery indefinitely.
-
- Keep in mind also that this beast, with the video module, outputs
- video signals in NTSC *and* PAL. Hmmm, 24-bit video without a
- Toaster ... /
