- This eve is made a mistake that just leaves me shaking my head ;-)
-
- Was playing around with various buffer sizes for my series II when I
- ended up with 2 - 256K CHIP RAM buffers (not on purpose obviously ;-) Gotta
- learn to tell the difference between F's and C's)... now, seeing as I only
- have 512K CHIP, I have a problem.
-
- Anyways, I end up with only about 160K CHIP free which isn't enough to
- allow me to run faaastprep and I don't seem to have any other utility
- that lets me remove/edit/nuke the disk buffers. Reformating my harddrive
- is also a frowned upon alternative.
-
- Also, I tired booting the GVP Utils disk with the harddrive in "game" mode
- but then the gvpscsi.device doesn't get loaded :( I used the likes or
- ARTM to try to kill the various drive processes, but that also didn't
- deallocate the memory.
-
- Surely there's some way to rectify my error? I have rather little experience
- when it comes to harddrives so I'm at a loss at how to get rid of those
- buffers.
-
- My setup, btw, is an A500 + GVP Series II (105 Meg drive w/ 4 megs ram)
- and the 2.04 ROMs.
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated :(
