  13. One kind of NULL modem cable is as follows:

  32. An official null modem cable is only good if using official null modems  :-)
  33. If the above doesn't work, then it is likely that you don't really need a null
  34. modem.  Change the above so that pin 2 connects to 2 and 3 to 3 and try again.
  35. The above is a simple version that does not support device signaling.

  38. If you need hardware handshaking or what is sometimes called a 7 wire connection

  57. The above should work for most all devices.  The trouble is that the
  58. RS232C standard does not clearly define how manufactures are going to
  59. configure their machines.  The RS323C standard only defines things like
  60. the voltages and the physical connector.
