- I am an addicted Amiga user here in Ireland. The Amiga I have is the A500 and
- was kindly lent to me by a friend of mine who has gone away for the summer.
- However, as my friend will be coming back soon and will be wanting his
- Amiga back - the only way I can see myself not suffering from severe
- withdrawal syptoms is to buy my own Amiga!
-
- I want to be able to program on my Amiga-to-be and the only way I can see
- myself doing this efficiently is with a hard-disk. What I want to know is, is
- the Amiga 500 and the A590 20MB hard-disk a good combination or could I do
- better? My mother is going over to the US next week - so I would like to take
- advantage of the cheaper hardware prices that the US has.
-
- I can get an Amiga 500 quite reasonable second-hand here in Ireland so I
- would like to know what the US prices are for hard-disks (and also maybe an
- add-on-driver) - hopefully not more than $350 (approx 200 Irish pounds).
- I know very little as regards the multitude of hardware available for the
- Amiga and I am just wondering would I be holding myself with an A500 with
- respect to hard-disks, or should I think of a more powerful Amiga - again
- money is the only thing holding me back!
-
- I would very much appreciate any advise anyone can give - Thanks,
- Colm.
