- That's funny, when I talk to a HST I can't ever get much more than 240cps or
- so.
-
- The HST speeds will only work when talking to another USR HST compatable modem.
- The SupraFax will get that 1600cps when talking to any V.32Bis compatable
- modem, which are made by almost all high-speed modem manufacturers, including
- USR. It doesn't matter what modem you buy for the most part, but do make
- sure that it supports V.32Bis. The only 'HST' compatable modem you should
- consider is the Dual Standard which supports both the propriatary HST protocol,
- as well as the standard V.32Bis (Which is what the Supra is using).

- The USR modems are more resistant to line noise than the Supra's, and thus
- will end up getting better transfers on poor phone lines. Your 1700-1800
- is more of a 'clean line' connection on already compressed files
- (You get higher on un-compressed files as the modems will do their own
- compression).
-
- Remember: USR is a company, Courrier is a modem, HST is a protocol.
