  18. What does the JR-Comm dialer window report when it gives up
  19. a dialing attempt? Is the modem confusing the ringing signal
  20. with busy or voice ones? The tones that different phone systems
  21. make are different. I can tell if I have dialed the same voice
  22. number twice by the way that the ring sounds on the line. 
  23. The modem may be unable to handle the subtlties beyond a certain
  24. point. Does your problem occur with certain BBSs and never with 
  25. others. If so this might confirm my suspicion.
