  20. Eric, Hiya. People/Link suddently went out of business (with about
  21. 1 day's notice) at the end of May 1991. The next day I moved the
  22. Amiga Zone to The Portal Online System. Portal's a national/
  23. international commercial service, multi-user, running on a large 
  24. network of Sun workstations, out of Cupertino, CA. Unlike Plink,
  25. which basically wasn't connected to nuthin, Portal is connected
  26. to virtually everything :) - with a membership you not only get
  27. the new improved Amiga Zone (now with over 800 Meg of files including
  28. the whole Fish Disk collection), live chats, message bases, etc.,
  29. but you get Usenet, free unlimited Internet email, and for a few
  30. extra bucks a month, a package that contains, amongst other things,
  31. FTP and IRC. The basic free is a very low flat-rate of $13.95/mo.

  33. You can reach Portal with your modem via SprintNet or Tymnet,
