- (P.S. - I've been playing MultiPlayer(the newest
- one I think) for 20 minutes now and it
- hasn't crashed my system. Wow.)
-
- I played around with IFF when I was younger ;-), when I
- had Mimetics Pro Midi Studio. The only way you could convert
- sounds to work on DMCS from my sampler was to make
- the first octave sample really big, then make each octave higher
- half the size of the lower one.
-
- When I looked at DMCS's samples, everything, including the drum-kits
- followed these rules. So, your bass drum was extra long and
- all the short samples went on top. If a sample was to short, the
- rest of the sample was filled with "zero-line".
-
- It is really silly how they did things. I wonder why they did it that way.
- Well I prefered Mimetics Soundscape Sample format over IFF.
- That should have been the standard. However, you could only have
- 64K per octave. Soundscape's sampler is cool in that you can
- play your samples from your MIDI keyboard using all of the Amiga's voices.
- It is like having a external sampler.
-
- I don't know if that package is still being sold, but it
- was about the best sampler I ever had. It was the only one. But
- you could actually figure out how to loop your waveforms without glitches by
- just tweaking the ZOOM gadget and looking at the pattern of the waveform.
- You can do this on MED, but I prefered soundscape's sampler.
-
- Later.
-
- (PS- The Multiplayer is still playing away. Heck this beats intuitracker,
- but this program lacks a LED-Command-Disable. I hate modules which tweak
- the LED, even if the songs weren't meant to do that. There should never
- be a LED toggle-switch controlable thru the modules.)
