- : Lastly, my major complaint: DPaint is supposedly used on lots
- : of vanilla amigas(=7MHz 68000), so when using high resolutions
- : or HAM, feedback can be quite slow(but one can live with it for
- : small jobs). Why isnt there at least an OPTION to have ZZZ, when
- : the Amiga is working. I know switching the pointer to the clock
- : (Working... ZZZ) means, input is not buffered, but ignored; thats
- : why I opt for it as an option. But buffering the input, when
- : the response time is several seconds(even > 10) gives me more
- : problems, than it helps me. For example, when removing the
- : border (F10) under stress, takes a very long time - I want the
- : pointer to go ZZZ until it is "ready" again, so I have this
- : sole indicator to watch(i.e. making my life easier).

- Yeap, this is a real pain. I have a standard un-accellerated A2000 and
- it can get a bit tedious. Doing a gradient fill, or anything to do with
- HAM immages, can take an eternity and it's not always obvious when it's
- finished. Where I feel it most is when setting up ranges with the "show"
- option turned on. One slip of the mouse and everything locks up for 10+
- seconds
- while it redraws the range with no indication that that's what it's
- going. Because there was no ZZZ type indication it took me a while to
- figure out why it was "locking up".
-
- : So why do I post this? Because I want other peoples opinions. If
- : it is only me, so be it, but if people agree in some of the
- : above, the DPaint folks will receive several suggestions for
- : it, and might do it(After all, they ask for your opinions/suggestions
- : themselves).
- :
- : Lastly, what other reasonable suggestions do people have for DPaint;
- : I cant think of any more at the moment(I think the above are
- reasonable
- : gripes, complaining DPaint does not have built-in Raytracing/Radiosity
- : package is not).
- :
- My only real gripe is that when you do a "fill" with the toolbox down
- the side, then the fill stops at the edge of the toolbox and not at the
- edge of the underlying screen as you'd expect.
