- I would like to backup a 20 MB UNIX PC drive. Once again, I'm
- faced with the horror of all those floppies as part of changing
- over a UNIX PC from a 20 MB to 80 MB drive. Having been through
- it several times before with a machine at home, I've been
- thinking there has to be a better way. Having neither the
- Ethernet card nor the 23 MB tape drive I'm wondering if dumping
- the disk over a serial line is an option. If it takes ten hours,
- thats OK because it won't need attention for most of them. At
- work, I have a Sun 4/330 with lots of nifty disk space sitting
- right next to the 7300 and am interested in opinions on how to
- copy the 7300 file system over to the Sun and then dump it back
- to the 7300. Has anyone looked at this before? Is SLIP a good
- way to go, and if so does something in the uunet archives support
- it? Thanks in advance,
-
