  20. I'm looking for a tool that is to talk as xbiff is to mail. That is, I would
  21. like to have an icon on-screen that beeps and flashes whenever somebody wants to
  22. "talk" to me.

  24. I have already tried contool (a console messages monitoring tool). It lets me,
  25. say, tell the computer to give me an xmessage whenever a "Message from
  26. Talk_Daemon@..." appears on the console. The disadvantage, however, is that this
  27. does not catch talk requests that appear on windows other than the console.
  28. (This is important for me because often I'm logged in to several computers at
  29. once, all on the same X display.) Also, X-Terminals do not have a console
  30. window.

  38. One of the responses to the first posting was that somebody has modified the
  39. source of xterm such that it pops up when somebody tries to "talk" to it. That
  40. would be of great help!
