- Hello all,
-
- I am currently running a SLIP link across a regular telephone line.
- The link is fairly dependable except once in a while a message saying
-
- "?recvd an ESCAPE followed by <some hex number> with ilen=<some number>"
-
- would pop up. Most of the time things would get back to normal afterwards
- but there are occasions where similar messages would keep appearing and the
- link will be totally bogged down. I am wondering if what this message
- means. Does this indicate a noisy phone line or is it related to some
- known bugs?
-
- Other than this, I was told that turning on the UDP checksum would be a good
- idea when a SLIP link is run over a regular phone line without an
- error correcting modem. Do you think this might help fix the above
- problem?
-
- Please e-mail your reponse.
-
- Thanks very much.
