- This usually indicates one of several things (in decreasing order of
- liklihood):

- 1. Your serial port is not configured for 9600 baud (did you execute a MODE
- statement?)

- 2. The serial connection was not established at 9600bps (can you lock the
- serial-port speed?)

- Basically KA9Q is receiving garbage, and is attempting to decode it (resulting
- in KA9Q thinking that it is VJ-compressed SLIP being used.)
