- Hi there,
-
- Maybe I'm missing something but I've been trying to get CSLIP, and
- I've found cslip.tar.Z which just contains the README:

- Did this release never happen? Is if_ppp.c an essential ingredient
- (I'm using a Sun IPC running SunOS 4.1 and the connection I'm
- running SLIP over is a fixed very clean serial line running at 9600
- bps if that's relevant)? All I can find on ftp.ee.lbl.gov is
- cslipbeta.tar. From what Van say the expected March '90 release
- shouldn't have been too much different from this, but reading the
- cslipbeta README file:
-
- > Berkeley, CA, Sun Dec 31 08:54:07 PST 1989
- >
- > This directory contains some experimental SLIP code that does
- > tcp/ip header compression & TOS queuing. This is a beta test

-
- suggests that CSLIP is not for people like me (i.e. I don't wish
- to hack the code). So what's the situation, is CSLIP for me (or
- anyone else for that matter). The server that supplies me my SLIP
- service says it can deal with CSLIP so it would be nice to take
- advantage of it if I could on my 9600 bps line.
-
- Thanks for your time, yours,
-
-
- George!
