- Are there online copies of the ASN.1 and BER specifications (which I
- believe are likewise ISO8824 and 8825 as well as x208 and x209)? The
- ccitt-standards tree (found with archie) has a very short file for
- each of these (1992/x/x208.asc).
- If the specs themselves are not online, are there descriptions
- of the protocols anywhere else? (wais-searching the RFCs didn't find
- anything but footnote references.) I'm not looking for an
- implementation, just the protocol description.
- Failing the above (and thus expressing disappointment at the
- European networking standards process, especially when compared to the
- IETF process) how does one order the specs? Are they included
- (verbatim) in any books?
- Thanks for any pointers you can provide; I'll summarize later.
