- We just received a QMS-PS 800 Printer and are having difficulty getting
- it to print from a SUN IPC. The "test" page indicates that the printer
- is RS232C Serial, Batch, 1200 baud, parity ignored. The ACTIVE light
- blinks once when a file is sent, and then sits quite inactive. I
- suspect a combination of hardware and software. The RS232 cable being
- used is currently successfully used on an NEC LC890.
-
- QUESTIONS:
- 1) Is it possible to change the baud rate to 9600?
- I am unable to locate either the addendum page which the manual
- refers to, or any dip switches. I notice a wheel near the RS232
- port which indicates a number from 0 through 7, but the manual
- doesn't reference this dial or its purpose.
- 2) If anyone successfully has this installed, what does your UNIX (BSD)
- /etc/printcap file look like?
-
- E-mail responses are fine.
- Thanks in advance.
