- Call For Papers
- 7th Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Simulation (PADS)
- In association with the Federated Computing Research Conference
- May 17-19 1993, Sheraton Harbor Island Hotel, San Diego, CA.
-
-
- The Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Simulation (PADS) is
- the oldest and longest running conference on parallel and distributed
- simulation. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
-
- * Techniques, algorithms, and systems for concurrent simulation (e.g.
- discrete, continuous, combined, real time, optimistic, conservative)
-
- * Programming constructs and languages for concurrent simulation
-
- * Performance evaluation of concurrent simulation algorithms and
- systems
-
- * Special purpose parallel simulation (e.g. network, logic, cache
- simulations)
-
- * Concurrent graphics and animation for simulation
-
- * Relationship of concurrent simulation and computer architecture
- (e.g., SIMD, geographically distributed computing, tightly coupled
- multiprocessors)
-
- * Case studies applying concurrent simulation techniques to
- production simulation software
-
-
- Schedule:
-
- October 15, 1992: Deadline for program chair to receive paper
- submissions (6 copies).
-
- January 15 1993: Notification of acceptance
-
- February 28 1993: Tentative deadline for camera ready copy
-
-
- Review Process:
-
- All submissions will be reviewed using a double-blind review process
- (i.e., the identity of authors and referees will not be revealed to
- each other). In addition to regular papers, the Program Committee
- may accept additional papers either as short papers or for inclusion in
- a poster session. Poster abstracts will appear in the proceedings.
- Papers judged to be especially high in quality will be forwarded for
- consideration for publication in the "ACM Transactions on Modeling and
- Computer Simulation."
-
- Submissions:
-
- Papers must be in English and should not exceed 5000 words.
-
- Submitted papers must represent original work that has
- not appeared or been simultaneously submitted to other conferences.
-
- To ensure blind reviewing, authors' names and affiliations
- should appear only on the cover sheet. Bibliographic references
- should be modified so as not to reveal the author's identity.
-
- Six (6) copies of the manuscript together with a cover letter
- stating the name, address (postal and electronic), and phone number
- of each author should reach the Program Chairman by October 15, 1992.

- PADS '93 will be part of the Federated Computing Research
- Conference (FCRC), which will encompass several established research
- conferences and workshops to be held in conjunction with one another.
- Its main goal is to obtain the benefits of having the computing research
- community meet together as a larger group, but to retain the
- traditional structure and research identity of the constituent meetings.
-
-
- Meetings confirmed as participants in FCRC are as follows:
-
- * 20th Annual International Symposium on Computer Architecture
- (ISCA '93)
-
- * 25th Annual ACM Symposium on the Theory of Computation (STOC)
-
- * 9th Annual ACM Symposium on Computational Theory
-
- * 4th ACM SIGPLAN Symposium on Principles and Practices of Parallel
- Programming (PPoPP '93)
-
- * 8th Annual Conference on Structure in Complexity Theory
-
- * Workshop on Parallel Algorithms (WOPA)
-
- * 7th Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Simulation (PADS)
-
- * ACM/ONR Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Debugging
