  28. There are a variety of ways to get a VMS system onto the 
  29. Internet. However, the exact method to be used depends upon the 
  30. functionality and economics (size of your budget).

  32. At the most inexpensive end, the DECUS UUCP package permits you 
  33. to set up a periodic connection to a "mail-exchanger", an 
  34. internet node which will act as a mail drop for your facility. 
  35. This arrangement is quite common. Several firms provide this 
  36. functionality on a commercial basis (the fees are not too 
  37. expensive).

  39. If you have a bigger budget and need more functionality/performance, 
  40. you can license one of the TCP/IP packages and get a leased 
  41. connection into one of the regional networks. While this gets you 
  42. a lot of functionality, it also tends to cost a lot of cash.
