- Hello group,
-
- Ive got a sick disk (RD54). Ive just upgraded to V5.5-1 and still
- can't get ANALYZE/DISK[/REPAIR] to run on the disk; it goes into an infinite
- loop somwhere in its processing. No errors are reported via SHOW ERRORS, but
- none the less, ANALYZE dies, as does DISKEEPERs DAU/FULL for the disk.
-
- So, until I get some patch for ANALYZE (or a clue), I have no way of
- getting rid of files with backlink pointers to null (ie. []) and flushing
- files that are marked for delete. I was told by DEC that BACKUP flushes the
- file cache, but that is toooooo slow on my machine.
-
- Does any one have some code that will force the flush? Also, has any
- one written some code that will run through INDEXF.SYS and tell me all the
- files with backlink pointers to NULL, and maybe even enters them in SYSLOST?
- If I can at least get the FIDs for the lost files I would be better off than I
- am now.
