- We are currently running DBMS version 4.0-379 for our financial applications.
- My system manager has been reminding us that we are not current with the latest
- DBMS version 4.3 (that's an understatement!).
-
- Under our current plans, we do not intend to utilize any of the new features
- under version 4.3. We will be reviewing our database needs in a year or two to
- see if we want to stay with DBMS or convert to RMS files or Rdb. I am only
- considering upgrading for two reasons: Performance increases and avoiding
- having our version of DBMS become obsolete at some time.
-
- The way that I am currently looking at it, unless there are serious performance
- enhancements I doubt that I want to bother with the task of upgrading at this
- point.
-
- What kind of performance enhancements are there with the versions of DBMS since
- 4.0-379? Email me directly at HERMANS@CRF.CUIS.EDU please! Thanx in advance
- for the advice.
