- MultiNet includes an SMTP mailer. See Chapter 7 of your MultiNet
- Administrator's Guide on configuring SMTP. There are also freely distributable
- mailers available that will do it, like MX.

- Check out ANU-NEWS. It works happily as either an NNTP client or server, local
- or remote newsgroups, and even has locally cached articles if you want. If you
- can think of a configuration, ANU-NEWS probably supports it. The interface is
- full-screen and quite user friendly. VNEWS I believe is more of a rn port.
- ANU-NEWS is discussed (and supported) on news.software.anu-news. The current
- production version is 6.0-3. V6.1 is currently in beta mode (I'm running the
- beta and it's quite stable). You can FTP the software from sao.aarnet.edu.au.
