- The copy I've seen did NOT come with the socket libraries. My understanding
- is that you have to purchase the "Programming Libraries" as a separate
- package for TCP/IP 1.2. Anyway I searched the hard drive just in case and
- the only *.lib files have nothing to do with TCP/IP and the only *sock*.*
- files are header files that came with GCC. Unless I'm missing something I
- think the assumption that 1.2 has a socket library is incorrect.
- As for the news reader that came with it. I have NEVER gotten it to
- work satisfactorily. I'll read one group and nothing I try allows me to read
- any other group. Also, I am of course familiar with gnus.
- Anyway, the question still stands: What happened to the free socket
- library someone here was considering writing?
