-
- Correct. Have a least one backup of all user programs and data.

- I see this question starting to appear periodically, as I expected
- it would. I asked this question a few months ago, and suggested
- that people would be running into this problem. I did not get any
- good answers.
-
- From my experiences, I found that WPSBK2 could not do the restore
- properly because the filename used by OS/2 for FAT vs HPFS are
- different. I tried to manually replace the FAT filenames with the
- HPFS equivalents, perform the restore, and substitute the FAT .ini
- files. I was unable to get the system to boot and present a
- working WPS. In theory, it should work, but I was unsuccessful.
- WPSBK3 may have some enhancements to address this, but I have not
- tried it.
-
- If you are willing to play around, you should know that there are
- some other programs which may be of assistance. They are EABK20
- which will backup and restore the extended attributes (all or
- selected files or directories), EAUTIL which come with OS/2 (EABK20
- automates the use of this program), and SHWINI which is a REXX
- procedure to copy and restore the contents of your .ini files.
-
- In any event, you should be in a position to restore your FAT drive
- to its original state, if something above fails, or you run short of
- time. In any event, be prepared to operate as a pioneer.
