- I am using a Supra V32bis faxmodem and it works just fine. The speaker only
- works for the first few minutes, then ceases to function. I usually have it
- off anyway and if I want to debug a problem, I just turn it off for a couple
- of minutes and the sound comes back. It doesn't appear to negotiate fall-back
- to lower baud rates on bad lines very well, but this may be addressed in the
- ROM upgrade due out soon.

- Get a 16550AFN (or the newer PC16550). Remember, the OS has little to do with
- whether or not your hardware can keep up with the rate of incoming data.

- Putting a UART in an external modem would be pointless, as it would stil have
- to be plugged into a serial port connected to the PC's bus. THAT port needs
- the 16550.........

- As above.
