- Subject: PMV2001 Not enough memory error - HELP|
- Lines: 26
-
- I have an Ericom 486 with 16 Megs, running OS/2 2.0. I run TCP/IP 1.1 for
- mail and ftp, as well as two PD utilities (dhrymon and alarmclock). I also
- start a Windows organizer program at startup. When I open a few folders and
- try to start another (small) application I get the following error:
-
- Workplace Shell
-
- There is not enough memory to continue. End one or more programs that are
- running on your system to release memory. Select enter when ready (PMV2001)
-
- I get this also when I open too much folders. The system beeps *a lot* and
- I have to confirm 15+ dialogs showing the same error message.
-
- I thought that by using virtual memory and swapping (MEMMAN = SWAP,PROTECT)
- I would be able to run much more tasks, especially with 16 Megs of memory.
-
- So, what could be wrong here ? Do I have to change settings of the windows
- application preventing it from running in the background ? Where do all
- those megabytes go to (CACHE=256,32 - IFS=... /C:384... - FILES=30 -
- BUFFERS=30) ? Is it because I load a lot of device drivers to support my
- token ring card, TCP/IP etc. ?
-
- Suggestions are appreciated |||
