- Yes it is! If you have lazy writes on, then you stand a very good
- chance of corrupting your disk if you just flip the power off.

- If you don't run the shutdown.exe program (in shutdown.zoo), run some
- other program that shuts down the system (I heard that the boot.exe
- program (for boot manager) does this). If you don't have any such
- program, press CTRL-ALT-DEL and wait for the screen to clear to your
- BIOS's sign-on message before powering off.

- Shutting down the system or pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL cleans up the file
- system, and commits all writes to the disk. It is an essential
- procedure before removing power or resetting the system.
