- I reformatted my disk as a single HPFS partition 3 days ago, and all my DOS programs
- AND a VDM copy of DOS 5 still work as well as they did before.

- OS/2 performs this by making the OS/2 disk a "Networked" drive.

- The only two points to note are related to files and directories which are not named according
- to the 8.3 standard. Firstly neither VDM DOS nor emulated DOS can see these files. Secondly
- if your current directory is one of these, when you start the DOS program, you will be bounced
- out to the root directory (Even if valid names occur further up the tree).

- Obviously, if you want to use DOS programs, this means that you must stick to names
- which DOS understands, IMHO a reasonable restriction.
