- I remember an old issue of PC Mag, when they reviewed the first
- generation of sVGA boards. I remember them stating that the Tseng
- chipset (then, the 3000) wasn't 100% register compatible with IBM's
- ISA-based VGA board. Oddly enough, IBM's board wasn't register-
- compatible with the PS/2 video circuitry.

-
- Ah, but you only get one full-screen DOS session <bigger grin>. DOS's
- stability isn't really an issue, since each app is (essentially) its
- own operating system - library malloc() functions being the memory
- manager, etc. The DOS file system has been around for over 10 years,
- so the bugs have been worked out of it (in most cases - ignore that
- FASTOPEN bug in DOS 4.0...).
-
- As for friendlier, well, DOS is as friendly as the shell you put
- around it. COMMAND.COM isn't very friendly. Add CED or 4DOS and it
- gets a little friendlier. If you load the DOS SHELL, it gets
- friendlier, still. If you add Norton Desktop, it gets even
- friendlier. If you add Windows, it gets real friendly, etc.
