  22. While my wife and I do not send e-mail between our machines at home, we
  23. do find file and printer sharing over our thin-lan ethernet quite useful.
  24. We were doing this under OS/2, but we have now taken OS/2 off both machines
  25. :-(... it was too slow running Windows programs.  She runs Windows 3.1
  26. and I dual boot 3.1 and the NT SDK.  We're anxiously awaiting future
  27. (even beta) releases of NT as we both own copies of the SDK and as things
  28. get more stable, we'll bring both machines up and do freeware and get
  29. the TCP/IP daemons working.  Alas we don't have networking under 3.1 at
  30. the moment :-(. (It's available, but I don't expect to be running 3.1 much
  31. longer.)

  40. Better yet, NT comes with multimedia support, just fire up the client
  41. to your message to the speech synthesis server on your father's machine
  42. upstairs. :-)
  43. You could do this under OS/2, but you'll have spent another $149 and
  44. your father will have spent $149 and besides noone will ever write
  45. the software as who'd have that many customers that would pay the $149
  46. for multimedia support?
