- While my wife and I do not send e-mail between our machines at home, we
- do find file and printer sharing over our thin-lan ethernet quite useful.
- We were doing this under OS/2, but we have now taken OS/2 off both machines
- :-(... it was too slow running Windows programs. She runs Windows 3.1
- and I dual boot 3.1 and the NT SDK. We're anxiously awaiting future
- (even beta) releases of NT as we both own copies of the SDK and as things
- get more stable, we'll bring both machines up and do freeware and get
- the TCP/IP daemons working. Alas we don't have networking under 3.1 at
- the moment :-(. (It's available, but I don't expect to be running 3.1 much
- longer.)
-
- [For those keeping track, only 1 of my 4 copies of OS/2 are in use...
- anybody want to buy a copy or two?]

- Better yet, NT comes with multimedia support, just fire up the client
- to your message to the speech synthesis server on your father's machine
- upstairs. :-)
- You could do this under OS/2, but you'll have spent another $149 and
- your father will have spent $149 and besides noone will ever write
- the software as who'd have that many customers that would pay the $149
- for multimedia support?
