- Okay, one last time. I know I posted this question a few times before.
- And I know others have posted similar questions.
- But I would just like to know again, which video adapters people like for OS2.
- I am very close to buying a new computer to run OS2. I have narrowed my
- decision to one of two companies.
- One company uses ET4000 (SpeedStar) adapters, and the other company uses
- ATI video cards.
- I am told that IBM has a "fix" for the ATI Wonder. And I know that a patch
- is required if I use the ET4000 chipset.
- My only other option is the ATI Ultra, but I don't think I can afford it.
- I will have to choose between two of the best non-coprocessed cards available.
- The decision of what card to buy will decide which company to buy from.
- The company that uses ET4000 cards is a little cheaper, so I would like to
- know if the money saved will be worth the headache in getting the ET4000
- to work properly (with seamless Windows). I know that IBM supports the
- ATI Wonder, so I might opt for the easy way out, and spend the few extra
- dollars, What do people say?
- Also, if I go with the company with the ET4000 cards, they also have a
- local-bus ET4000 chip, for the same price as the SpeedStar.
- Other than video adapters, the two companiesd use mostly the same exact
- components, and have the same service policies.
