- I have a stat. analysis program [DOS] which uses DPMI compatible dos
- extender. Since I plan to analyze some big data sets (>6 or 7MB), I
- changed DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT to 8MB. Do I have to change XMS_MEMORY_LIMIT
- and EMS_MEMORY_LIMIT too? I have 16Mb memory.
-
- More generally, could anybody explain what these settings do in terms
- of PHYSICAL MEMORY usage and VIRTUAL MEMORY usage? (Please do not
- explain the differences between XMS and EMS, or what DPMI means..., etc.
- I want to know practical implications only.) At what size of data,
- would the program [program itself does not utilize disk space] start
- using disk space? Thanks....
