- A few quick questions about OS/2 SVGA support....
-
- I have installed the Trident 800 * 600 256 colour drivers.
- This works OK for WPS but I have a few problems with WINOS2.
-
- The VGA.DRV is now the Trident 800 * 600 256 colour windows driver but
- WINJPEG and WINGIF act as if it is only a 16 colour driver.
- Also quiting from the WINOS2 full screen session causes the display to blank
- and never come back! I have to switch back to the desktop and close the
- WINOS2 session to get out of Windows with out hanging the system.
-
- Any ideas?
-
- My system is a 386/40 with 4MB RAM, 80MB IDE, FAT file system
- AMI BIOS, FOREX chipset, video card is JAX-8218 (Trident 8900C)
-
- Another video related question, why can't you run 320 * 200 * 256c
- programs in a DOS window with the 800 * 600 * 256c driver?
- The REAME with the Trident drivers says 256 -> 16 colour conversion
- is too expensive, but what is the problem with 256 colour modes?
- It must be more work to convert 256 -> 16 colour so they run under the
- standard VGA driver?!?!
